Use Your Ideas To Improve An Industry

What’s a new industry that could use your thinking skills?

In the 1930s, Henry F. Phillips knew that the power screwdrivers used on automobile assembly lines did not work well with ordinary slot screws. The screwdriver heads were difficult to align and tended to slide off the screw and damage a part. Phillips tested a number
of designs for different screw heads and came up with the cross-shaped indentation that has become known as the Phillips head screw.

He sold the idea to the automakers, who put it to use on assembly lines. It has become a standard for industrial and home usage
ever since.
