Help Someone With Your Idea

Who around you needs help with an everyday task?

In 1920, Josephine Dickson, newly married and an inexperienced cook, was constantly burning and cutting herself in the kitchen. Because she was alone during the day, she had difficulty bandaging her cuts. Her husband Earle spent time each day bandaging his wife’s new wounds. Finally, he began making a number of bandages ahead of time by placing squares of cotton gauze along an adhesive strip and covering them with crinoline. Josephine was then able to cut a new bandage whenever she needed it - Earle had made the first crude Band-Aid®.
