Don’t Wait For Someone Else To Solve Your Problem

What have you been waiting for someone else to invent?

In 1886, tired of washing dishes by hand, and tired of waiting for someone else to invent a solution, Josephine Cochrane decided to invent a dishwashing machine. The Illinois woman built wire compartments designed to fit her plates, cups, and saucers and then spun this inside a copper boiler that squirted hot soapy water at the dishes. Soon she was getting orders from restaurants and hotels. Cochrane patented the design, won the highest invention award at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, and founded a company to manufacture her dishwasher.
